- ➤ Tri-Cities pageant titleholder Deidre Murphy is leading a statewide drive to collect soap, deodorant, shampoo, and menstrual products for women in need. Donations can be dropped off at several local sites including her New Edge Family Chiropractic + other community locations. KFLD
- ➤ For over 20 years, Domestic Violence Services of Benton and Franklin Counties has offered emergency shelter, legal advocacy, housing assistance and community education to support survivors facing various forms of abuse. The nonprofit in Kennewick (on Clearwater) also operates a thrift store to help families rebuild their lives. Apple Valley News Now

- ➤ Pasco School District considered its next funding steps after a school levy failed on Feb. 10 by 59 votes (5,424 yes, 5,482 no). Officials met on Feb. 19 and will decide at a Feb. 24 meeting if the levy will be reoffered later in 2026. Apple Valley News Now

- ➤ BFT announced on Feb. 20 that new transit security officers will start patrolling key hubs: Queensgate near Richland + Pasco near Clark St. + 3-Rivers Hub near Toyota Center and select bus routes on Feb. 23 in response to growing threats against drivers. 610 KONA
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A recall has been announced for nearly 3.4 million pounds of Trader Joe’s chicken fried rice sold in stores and Canada after glass pieces were found, with best-by dates from Sept. 8 to Nov. 17; customers are advised to return or discard the product safely. FOX 41 Yakima
- ➤ Kadlec now offers the Watchman heart procedure in Tri-Cities for patients with atrial fibrillation who risk strokes if they cannot take blood thinners (a same day procedure) that avoids long drives to Seattle or Spokane, according to Dr. Abdelazim Hashim. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ A new Watchman heart procedure is now available in the Tri-Cities to help local patients with Atrial Fibrillation reduce stroke risk — the same day option helps those who cannot take blood thinners and want to avoid long drives to Seattle or Spokane. FOX 41 Yakima
