CRIME NEWS

  • A wrong-way driver was arrested early this morning after driving from Kennewick to Benton City on I-82 (covering about 20.5 miles in 23 minutes) when officers received reports of reckless driving (the driver showed signs of impairment) and took him into custody.  610 KONA
  • A driver was arrested on March 16, 2025 after driving west in the eastbound lanes with signs of impairment near Dallas Road on I-82, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol.  FOX 41 Yakima
  • Friends and family of Jhoser Sanchez gathered near the Richland Police Department on March 16 to protest for justice after he died in a car crash on March 1 involving off-duty state trooper Sarah Clasen (arrested that night and released on March 3) while demanding more accountability as special prosecutor Larry Haskell (expected to provide further updates soon) continues his review.  FOX 41 Yakima
  • Kennewick police arrested a 42-year-old man and later captured a 30-year-old after both men tried to resell stolen products online following a theft on the 1300 block of N. Columbia Center Blvd—officials recovered a heavy duty truck reported abandoned off Gage Blvd and are now investigating additional thefts at that location.  NBC Tri-Cities
