- ➤ PNNL in Richland has been nominated for a GeekWire Award for Innovation of the Year for its vitrification science that turns Hanford waste into glass logs. The award will be presented at Showbox SoDo on Thursday, May 7 at 5:30 p.m. NBC Tri-Cities

- ➤ Gabriela Whitemarsh, a bilingual math teacher at Pasco High and State Teacher of the Year, was named Grand Marshal for the 2026 Cinco de Mayo Parade on Saturday, May 2 at Volunteer Park; students and staff surprised her in class following her award win (first for the district since 2008). - ➤ A section of Railroad Avenue in Pasco will close March 27 through March 30 as crews install a signalized railroad crossing (for the Reimann Industrial Center to join the BNSF network). Drivers are advised to use Highway 395 and Kartchner Street. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ Mayor Charles Grimm will present a proclamation honoring Police Chief Ken Roske at the City Council workshop meeting — starting at 7:00 p.m. today — to mark his nearly 40 years of service, which began in 1986 and led to his appointment as chief in 2019. NBC Tri-Cities
