CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is asking neighbors for help after security footage showed a vehicle prowling near Connell that led to the theft of a rifle on March 18 between 12:45 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.—authorities believe the suspects are juveniles or young adult males. FOX 41 Yakima
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officers from Richland, Hanford Patrol, and Walla Walla attended a training session on Thursday at the Hanford Patrol Emergency Vehicle Operations Course to master the PIT maneuver — a safer alternative to stop sticks that reduces risks during high-speed chases. Trainers said the session improved coordination by adding a secondary officer to assist during pursuits. KEPR
- ➤ The City of Richland announced the Yakima Delta Fire is 100% contained but it may still smolder and produce smoke for several weeks. Fire crews are monitoring the situation and have reopened the bike and walking trail along SR240—residents are advised not to call 911 for smoke reports. Apple Valley News Now
- ➤ In Washington, drivers must stop at blue stop signs even though they are used on private property such as ranch roads and business lots — these signs work like regular stop signs and failing to stop may lead to a ticket. 610 KONA
