- ➤ Tri-Cities Chaplaincy will host Passport to Fun, a vacation-themed fundraiser that supports end-of-life care and grief programs, on April 26 at Events at Sunset in Richland at 5:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $75 for one and $125 for couples (guests should wear vacation clothes). FOX 41 Yakima

- ➤ On Monday afternoon, Richland police arrested a man in a stolen Chevy Trailblazer — he had been found slumped over on the 500 block of Sanford Avenue and, after waking, drove away hitting stop sticks, running red lights and prompting a PIT maneuver — and he was taken to a hospital for treatment after officers noticed he was smoking suspected fentanyl during his arrest. - ➤ The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will vote on new bachelor's degrees at Columbia Basin College on April 10 that include a Bachelor of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. A study session is held today at the State Board office to update board members on potential changes to the college system's allocation model and project prioritization. FOX 41 Yakima
- ➤ Columbia Basin College in Pasco received $54 million for a new performing arts center and $18 million for student housing after legislators approved the capital projects. The housing is planned for the corner of 20th Ave—Argent to expand living options for students. 610 KONA

- ➤ Pasco-based Prieto Landscaping LLC allegedly transported and disposed of solid waste including construction materials without a state-required certification in September and October 2024, according to staff with the Utilities — Transportation Commission. The agency documented 147 violations, recommended a $147,000 penalty, and will hold a prehearing conference at 9:30 a.m. May 9 to review the complaint. Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business
- ➤ Today, the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges held a study session at its Olympia office to learn about funding rules and plans for school projects. The board will meet tomorrow to consider new bachelor's degrees at Columbia Basin College, including a Bachelor of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (and a similar program at Whatcom Community College) while the meeting is streamed live on TVW.
