- ➤ Kadlec Clinic Northwest Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine partnered with archeologists at Coyote Canyon Mammoth Site to support a 30-inch mammoth scapula—an effort that used skills common to their daily work—while the all-volunteer MCBONES Research Center continues its active dig that welcomes public visits from April to October. - ➤ Reser's Fine Foods, with a local facility in Pasco, is celebrating its 75th-anniversary by hosting a jingle contest for college vocal groups offering a total prize of $75,000. Eligible groups must submit a two-minute acapella video by May 11 at 11:59 p.m. PT for a chance to win awards that include a $25,000 grand prize and additional runner-up prizes. KFLD

- ➤ During a morning school bus drop-off in Kennewick, a 23-year-old man boarded the bus and sat briefly in the driver’s seat (it was on North Volland Street) before police arrested him (he is now held in Benton County Jail). NBC Tri-Cities
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ An $8 million highway project to build new lanes on Highway 240 will soon begin work on Kingsgate Road, Battelle Boulevard and Stevens Drive—state officials said a noise reduction wall has already been built to protect Moon River RV Resort and upcoming work will include detour routes with nightly closures at the intersection of Hagen Road and Highway 240 until August. The project will cause weekday travel restrictions and set the stage for safer merging when the next phase starts in June. Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business
