- ➤ The Pasco Taco Crawl will run from April 18 to May 3, offering a $40 voucher booklet for trying 20 taco varieties that support the Boys and Girls Club — new vendors will join to bring unique flavors. Residents can pick up booklets downtown and vote for their favorite taco by May 3. NBC Tri-Cities
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fire at the Entrada de Ferro Apartments in Kennewick on Wednesday afternoon led to one person being hospitalized for smoke inhalation as two residents escaped safely—firefighters from Kennewick, Pasco and Benton County worked to tear down parts of the roof and windows and continue investigating the cause. - ➤ Pasco Senator Nikki Torres was appointed as a legislative advisor to the Washington State Women's Commission, marking the first time a new legislator has joined the group since 2021. She said she is excited to bring her first-generation Latina perspective to support policies that help women and girls in the state. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ Starting May 7—travelers 18 or older will need a Real ID compliant driver’s license or another accepted ID to avoid extra screening at airports. Officials at Tri-Cities Airport report a 12% rise in first quarter passengers—and plan to boost flights with larger planes to Denver and Salt Lake. KEPR
- ➤ A recent audit from the Washington State Auditor revealed that Franklin County Jail lost nearly $2 million in funds because the commissary service stopped sending monthly statements after 2018 and the county paid about $1.2 million extra for jail medical services between 2020 and 2024 due to lack of oversight by the Sheriff’s Office. The Board of County Commissioners has received the report and will implement new controls to correct these issues. FOX 41 Yakima
