CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police urge local residents to avoid the Columbia Center Blvd. and Fowler St. area due to a woman with firearms in an ongoing incident—officers are working to resolve the situation safely. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ On April 28th at about 6:15 p.m., Kennewick police responded to reports of shootings near West Clearwater Avenue and North Edison Street where witnesses saw three individuals firing at a passing vehicle+ after detaining and releasing three suspects for questioning, they continue to seek leads and urge anyone with information to call 509-628-0333. 610 KONA
- ➤ On April 28, Sheriff Jim Raymond said he patted his former colleague Keilen Harmon on the chest during a stressful discussion as Harmon recorded him—he added that tensions with the county board and new administrator remain high while a May 8 hearing will decide the matter. NBC Tri-Cities

- ➤ Washington State University Tri-Cities will hold its commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 3 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick where more than 300 graduates will gather at 1:00 p.m.—Michelle Whitney, superintendent of the Pasco School District, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address. - ➤ Bike Tri-Cities and the REACH Museum will host a free educational Ride with a Ranger event on May 3 that features a 17 mile round trip ride along the Sacajawea Heritage Trail, through city streets on Richland Parkway, and a stop at the REACH Museum — where participants will see hands-on activities about the Manhattan Project. - ➤ WalletHub's study finds Washington is the best state for nurses and Oregon is third based on pay, working conditions, and available facilities. Registered nurses in Washington earn about 15% more than the national average and those in Oregon about 19% more — the study also cites restrictions on mandatory overtime as a factor in reducing burnout. 610 KONA
