- ➤ Liberty Christian will host its 10th Annual Patriot Show and Shine at 2200 Williams Boulevard in Richland on May 10 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.—the event will feature classic, vintage and custom vehicles to raise funds and will include a new power wheels race for children ages 4-10. - ➤ Numerica Credit Union is partnering with Swigg Coffee Bars for a 'Coffee For a Cause' campaign that will run from May 12 to May 16 in support of Girl Scouts. Every drink sold will donate $1—up to $5,000—to help fund a new adventure park at Camp Four Echoes for local campers. KFLD
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, two kayakers were pulled over the spillway at Wanawish Dam on the Yakima River near Horn Rapids and rescued by the Fire Districts, while Benton County Sheriff's Department later freed a firefighter from a stuck, partially submerged rescue craft (Fire Districts plan to retrieve the craft in the next day or two). 610 KONA

- ➤ Irrigation supplies for homes and farms in the Tri-Cities will face price hikes up to 125% later this summer due to tariffs, rising production costs, and supply chain issues—prompting local residents and growers to prepare for limited availability. KFLD
- ➤ The Federal Reserve report shows Washington businesses face slower growth, layoffs, and rising overhead costs – some developers have paused projects as the housing market cools and renters struggle with higher prices. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Bob Ferguson signed a new law on May 2 that requires the state to report greenhouse-gas emissions annually plus replacing the old two-year reporting system. The law, sponsored by Sen. Matt Boehnke, mandates interim updates in 2027 and 2029 and a full emissions inventory starting in 2031 while requiring natural-gas utilities to also report their data. FOX 41 Yakima
