- ➤ Today, Pasco Farmers Market opens at 9 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. while Grace Hollow Spring Market in Kennewick welcomes last-minute Mother's Day shoppers from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tomorrow, the Mother's Day Spring Faire in Yakima will offer live music and local artisans from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ Tri-Cities Animal Services has featured Dorita, a fun 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who was found as a stray in October and now waits for a loving home. The shelter welcomes visitors Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.—her adoption fee is $50 and she is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. KFLD
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters in Tri-cities warned that a dry season with less rain and high temperatures will raise fire risk starting by the end of May or early June and may last through November—residents should use string trimmers instead of mowers, carefully rake debris for safe burning, and keep sprinklers or hoses ready as a first step in emergencies. They also reported several recent fires on Interstate 82, Badger Road and in the Fort Walla Walla natural area that are considered suspicious. KEPR

- ➤ Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco will expand its baggage area with over $7 million in grant money as part of a larger $60 million state initiative—tripling the current size to improve safety and efficiency.
