- ➤ Middleton Farms will host its annual Strawberry Festival this weekend with events scheduled on May 24-26, May 31, and June 7 + visitors will be able to pick strawberries, play games and enjoy food with extended hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on May 24 at 1050 Pasco-Kahlotus Rd. - ➤ Mirror Ministries, a Christian nonprofit working to end sex trafficking, moved its operations to a new facility in Kennewick on May 21 to better support survivors in the Tri-Cities area — the relocation will help the organization expand its services. NBC Tri-Cities
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Early Wednesday at 2 a.m., a driver in Pasco caused a two-car crash on I-182 when he rear-ended a vehicle that swerved into the median and flipped, then evaded police until he was arrested at 5:30 a.m. on Wernett Road while the flipped car's driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries—sections of westbound I-182 were closed for two hours. - ➤ Today, the Pasco Police Department is hosting the Pacific Northwest Police Detection Dog Association Narcotic and Explosive Detection Conference, which brings top instructors from the U.S. Secret Service, FBI — and NYPD to lead training sessions. The five-day event started on May 19 and continues through May 23 with practical exercises held at local venues such as the Toyota Center and Bergstrom Aircraft and Ranch and Home. FOX 41 Yakima

- ➤ Trios Birth Center in Kennewick launched a new postpartum care program in the Tri-Cities on May 21 (inspired by Washington's Blue Band Initiative which uses colored wristbands to alert providers) to help mothers get quick care.
