ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A rollover crash on Highway 395 near Mesa in Franklin County happened just before 1 p.m. on Monday when the driver flipped into the grassy median and was stuck for 25 minutes before being taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital—traffic was only reopened after a two-hour cleanup and investigation. - ➤ Kennewick police investigated a drive-by shooting Monday just before 1 p.m. on Clearwater Avenue between Union and Huntington when a white sedan fired at a passing car—witnesses reported at least three passengers were in the sedan—before fleeing toward Pasco as officers secured the scene and collected shell casings. - ➤ The Tri-Cities Juneteenth Committee will host a week of events from Friday, June 13 through Sunday, June 22 that include the Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant at Chiawana High School on Friday at 6:30 p.m., a parade and festival on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Kurtzman Park in Pasco with 250 free food tickets, a Day of Service on Thursday at Kurtzman Park followed by free skating at Rollerarena, and Gospel Fest on Sunday at 5 p.m. with Crystal Atkins — advance tickets for the Scholarship Pageant cost $10 and must be purchased by June 10. - ➤ The U.S. FDA announced on June 10th that 1.7 million dozen eggs from a California supplier were recalled due to salmonella concerns after the eggs were distributed from February 3 through May 6—labels show specific codes to identify affected products. Illnesses in 79 people across 7 states, including Washington, have been reported, and shoppers are urged to check their egg cartons and return recalled products for a refund. 610 KONA
