- ➤ Yesterday, firefighters responded to a call on Wrigley Drive in Pasco and contained a fire that destroyed a backyard shed—officials said the blaze may have been started by burning weeds—and no injuries were reported. Apple Valley News Now

- ➤ Two WSU Tri-Cities students studying computer science, math and engineering received an Office of Undergraduate Research Fellowship that gives each about $1,500 for their research in 2025-26. - ➤ The Department of Energy is reviewing a 295-acre site on former Hanford land in Richland for a new AI data center—one of 16 locations under consideration that benefit from the local expertise at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ On Monday night, the Pasco City Council voted five-to-two to study the removal of fluoride from the water supply due to health concerns and divided opinions among local dental experts—council members noted similar moves are being considered in other cities, and further discussions will follow in the coming months. - ➤ FreshRealm recalled its chicken fettuccine Alfredo meals sold at Kroger and Walmart on June 17 after a listeria outbreak sickened 17 people+ three died and one fetal loss occurred. - ➤ Dr. Mark Mulholland, a Richland obstetrician and gynecologist, is under investigation by the Washington Medical Commission for alleged misconduct that includes body-shaming remarks, sexual comments and non-consensual touching of patients at a women's clinic between December 2022 and August 2024—he may face disciplinary action if he does not contest the charges.
