- ➤ Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship Center in Pasco announced it will close after 19 years of offering equine-assisted therapy due to financial challenges—receiving less than half of the nearly $10,000 monthly funding needed forced the center to deplete its reserves. NBC Tri-Cities

- ➤ Goodwill Industries has applied for a special permit to build a thrift store with an operations center and offices at 7511 Wrigley Drive in Pasco after purchasing five undeveloped acres in 2019 for $1.17 million. A public hearing will be held on July 9th at City Hall and a decision on the permit is expected about ten days later. 610 KONA

- ➤ Today, Kroger said in its Q1 earnings report that it will close 60 stores over the next 18 months and Washington shoppers might face fewer options if local Fred Meyer or QFC outlets are hit. The company said it will offer jobs to employees from affected outlets—more details will be shared as the plan moves forward. KFLD

- ➤ The Pasco School District settled a racial discrimination lawsuit by paying $1.9 million to José Hernandez, a former transportation director who worked for 19 years and said he faced racist slurs, threats and degrading graffiti.
