  • Old Timer, an eight and a half year old Jack Russell mix at the Tri Cities Animal Shelter, has reunited with his owner after being missing for more than three years—his Facebook post confirmed his microchip details and led to a pet transport service that returned him home.  NBC Tri-Cities
  • Pasco released its Grand Old Fourth celebration schedule for July 4 with events beginning at Memorial Park, including a Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., a Kids Street Dance at 9:15 a.m. and a parade at 10:00 a.m. starting at City Hall along W. Clark Street that ends near Sylvester Park — parade registration is open until 5:00 p.m. on June 30 while later events include a Camp Patriot Show & Shine Car Show, free inflatables, a cardboard regatta, free swim Friday and a fireworks show at Gesa Stadium.  610 KONA

  • Children’s Attic is a family-owned thrift store in Pasco that carries the largest selection of gently used baby and children’s clothing in the Mid-Columbia. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Washington's tax receipts for the upcoming operating budget are forecast to be hundreds of millions lower than expected, forcing the state to tap into its savings while the general fund remains very thin. Gov. Bob Ferguson said he will not call a special session yet—state agencies and lawmakers will review budgets and seek additional cuts as federal funding concerns persist.  Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business
  • The State Director of Rural Development visited Pasco to meet with Franklin County commissioners and residents, addressing concerns about emergency services, water issues, and broadband expansion.   • Tri-Cities health experts say that U.S. sunscreen options are limited to older ingredients because they are regulated as over-the-counter drugs — while European products use newer UV filters for better protection.
