  • A Richland man was arrested on multiple domestic violence charges after his ex girlfriend said she was held hostage at WE Johnson Park — she said he picked her up on July 4 and she escaped on July 6 — and he has been booked into Benton County Jail.  FOX 41 Yakima

  • Local leaders in TriCities are looking to replace fireworks with drone light shows for future July 4 celebrations, promising cleaner air and quieter nights — experts say the new displays may help reduce pollution and ease stress for pets and people — and plans are under review by event organizers.  610 KONA

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Cleanup crews at the Hanford Site have removed 300,000 tons of contaminated soil and 20,000 tons of concrete from an area the size of six football fields in the K Area—safeguarding the Columbia River for future generations. A 20-year-old office complex was also demolished, marking another step in reducing risks at the site.  KFLD
