  • Lawyers demanded the immediate release of an Oregon firefighter arrested by Border Patrol on August 29 while battling the Bear Gulch Fire in the Olympic National Forest — they claim his arrest violated Homeland Security policies as he had a pending U-Visa after helping federal investigators with a crime against his family.  FOX 41 Yakima

CULTURE NEWS

  • Today, Hanford History Project and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church host Mapping East Pasco from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—community members will help fill in missing details on maps and key sites from the 1950s to preserve East Pasco's Black history.  NBC Tri-Cities
  • An exhibit at the Arts Center will revisit the early 1990s when Seattle artists backed nuclear energy at Hanford—merging art and science to spark dialogue on future energy.
