  • On Labor Day, more than 500 people gathered on Columbia Center Boulevard near Columbia Center Mall in Kennewick to protest the growing wealth gap between workers and billionaires—organizers said the protest highlighted stagnant wages and the need for stronger unions.  Apple Valley News Now
  • PNNL will host its AI for Good event on Sept. 19 at Washington State University Tri-Cities Collaboration Hall where educators, business professionals, entrepreneurs and community members will learn practical AI skills—attendees will take home a personal prompt library as the lab celebrates its 60th anniversary. Reservations are required since attendance is limited to the first 100 people and the free event will run from 5-8 p.m.  Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Washington Conservation Corps is recruiting young adults, military veterans, and those with disabilities for over 250 environmental service positions starting Oct. 1 through next September. Applicants interviewed on a rolling basis will work on tasks like removing invasive plants, restoring habitats, and helping during local disasters — they receive a living allowance, health care, and professional training.  Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business
  • On Labor Day, roughly 500 protestors gathered on Columbia Center Boulevard in Kennewick to demand fair wealth distribution during a national demonstration called 'Workers over Billionaires.'
