- ➤ Trooper Sarah Clasen has been charged for a fatal drunk driving crash that occurred on March 1 in the Horn Rapids neighborhood when her off-duty vehicle collided with 20-year-old Jhoser Sanchez's motorcycle — she spent nearly four hours at a bar before the crash and had a blood alcohol level of .17. - ➤ The City of Pasco is hosting its first Folklorico Ballet showcase to honor Mexican Independence Day this weekend at Peanut Park downtown from 3pm to 6pm. Four dance groups from different regions of Mexico will perform while vendors offer Mexican food as the event is sponsored by the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. KEPR

- ➤ West Nile virus has been detected in Benton, Yakima and Grant counties—no human or animal cases have been reported so far. Benton County Mosquito Control said 66 test sites and prevention advice like using EPA-approved repellent will help locals stay safe as mosquito activity is expected to shift later in the season.
