ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Last night, a thunderstorm sparked lightning fires in Franklin County as FCFD#3 responded to nine calls, including a 33-acre stubble field fire near Pasco Kahlotus Road and Murphy Road that was contained by 9:40 p.m.—a wildland strike team was brought in to assist with reports from nearby Walla Walla County. - ➤ Trader Joe’s has announced a new store location planned for 691 Sleater Kinney Rd SE in Lacey, Washington — while the Tri-Cities area still awaits its own Trader Joe’s. The company said it is preparing to open the store soon and will release more details later. 610 KONA
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ In Kennewick, police stopped a cyclist just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday for a traffic violation and recovered a stolen motorcycle missing since February—30-year-old Robertson Walker was arrested after officers found keys used in vehicle theft and the bike was set to be returned to its owner. KFLD

- ➤ Educational Services District 123 received funding to boost after-school and summer programs at Benton City, Finley, and Dayton schools by linking Kiona Benton and Finley Elementary and Middle Schools with the Dayton Community Center—programs that will begin mid-October to offer academic, STEM, literacy, and social-emotional support.
