  • The Tri-Cities area has hosted only three sitting U.S. Presidents. John F. Kennedy visited in 1963 at the Hanford Site for a groundbreaking ceremony—Richard Nixon visited in September 1971 to dedicate a building in Richland—and George W. Bush visited in 2003 at the Ice Harbor Dam near Pasco to talk about salmon recovery.  610 KONA

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • New CARFAX data shows that fall is the most dangerous season for car accidents in many states — with risks from shorter daylight, slick leaves, and increased deer activity; local drivers are urged to slow down and check vehicle maintenance to stay safe when the season fully arrives.  FOX 41 Yakima

  • Sheriff Tom Croskrey, who rebuilt the Benton County Sheriff’s Office over four years, stepped down and left Lt. Mike Clarke as interim leader. Commissioners will select a permanent sheriff within 90 days—if they do not, Governor Ferguson will appoint a replacement.  610 KONA
