- ➤ Cafe Con Arte, a coffee shop that opened almost two years ago in downtown Pasco and focuses on community and art, is expanding to Kennewick. It will open its new location today at Columbia Center mall — where The Vault art gallery and studio is also housed. Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business
- ➤ Chrysler recalled 320,000 Jeep plug-in hybrids due to faulty batteries that risked fire, with 19 incident reports and 1 injury recorded—models include Jeep Wranglers from 2020 to 2025 and Grand Cherokees from 2022 to 2026. Owners were told to park their vehicles away from buildings and not charge them, and they will receive interim notification letters by December 2—further instructions will follow once a remedy is finalized. - ➤ Benton County was formed in March 1905 from parts of Klickitat and Yakima counties and was named for Senator Thomas Hart Benton—an advocate for westward expansion—while Franklin County, established in 1883 from Whitman County, was named after founding father Benjamin Franklin who shaped early American history. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Nate’s Fine Foods recalled over 245,000 precooked pasta meals sold in stores including those in Pasco after a listeria outbreak claimed six lives and led to 25 hospitalizations across several states — health officials urge consumers to check freezers and avoid eating the recalled items. 610 KONA
- ➤ The FDA announced a recall on Moonlight peaches sold at Fred Meyer and Walmart due to listeria concerns—customers who bought the produce between September 16 and October 29 are advised to dispose of them and seek refunds. 610 KONA
