  • The Tri-Cities offer six self guided holiday tours for families, including the Lighted Boat Parade along the Columbia River and festive displays in downtown Richland, Kennewick, and West Pasco; residents can enjoy flexible schedules + options for New Year’s Eve and mapped holiday lights.  KFLD
  • Volunteers from the LDS Church delivered truckloads of food to families in northern Franklin County today as processing plant closures increased demand among local farm workers. The donation is expected to keep food banks stocked until early spring while drought conditions in the Columbia Basin improve.  KEPR

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Dec. 4 at 3:30 p.m., crews (Grant PUD and GrayMar Environmental) resumed cleanup of a 240-gallon oil spill at Priest Rapids Dam after maintenance triggered a leak on Dec. 3; boaters are advised to avoid the river between the dam and Pasco as containment continues.  FOX 41 Yakima

HEALTH NEWS

  • After seven years of planning and millions in community donations, the Columbia Valley Center for Recovery nears completion in Kennewick. The facility will open in April to provide 24-hour observation, crisis stabilization, withdrawal management and residential services, with recovery housing and youth treatment planned for later phases.  Apple Valley News Now
