- ➤ Avelo Airlines will stop flights at Tri-Cities Airport after October 20 as it ends its West Coast service — passengers with tickets booked past that date should contact the airline for options. Alaska Airlines will start service to Hollywood Burbank on October 26 — Breeze Airways will debut nonstop flights from Pasco to Burbank with a direct option to Provo starting in March 2026. - ➤ The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that beef prices rose nearly 14% compared to August — prompting local consumers to choose chicken as retailers noted a shift in buying habits. Brazilian beef now faces a 76% tariff and USDA restrictions on Mexican cattle due to screwworm parasite concerns — adding to the shortage in local markets. FOX 41 Yakima
- ➤ The Port of Pasco approved a letter of intent for a company to buy a 42-acre lot at the Reimann Industrial Center for $6.3 million and gave the buyer a 90-day window to complete the sale. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Columbia Basin College recorded an unofficial count of 8,234 students on its Pasco and Richland campuses as of Sept. 24, marking 465 more students than fall 2024.
